Artascope at PROP's Family Expo!

Another fun day for me, Suzanne, to sneak out of the Studios to promote some of the cool stuff that we do here at Artascope! Did you know, that we offer classes for kids? Not everyone does, so today, I packed up a little make and take project and headed over to the Portland Expo Center for an 11 am Make-n-Take demo!

And, when I got there, the presenter before me was wearing a snake. OH MY! A VERY large (python I believe) snake that was over 13 feet long, as many kids in the audience volunteered to get up on stage and hold. My camera wasn’t in a cooperative mood, so unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to catch their faces with a HUGE grin as they held the shedding snake.\

Yes, I said shedding. As I set up for the Artascope presentation, I found many remnant bits of the last performer. I guess I am not a snake person as that gave me goosebumps!

But anyways, we had a fun and quick 20 minute Make-n-Take demo that pulled in lots of kids, moms and dads! The kids loved being able to try out the hammers…and really give them a bang! We have simple silver wire hearts and brass pine trees for the guests to practice their Hammered Metal skills!

Everyone left with a huge smile on their face and ready to plan their next outing! Kids Art Parties offer a variety of projects for kids, at $25 per child, minimum of 5 kids. The projects are about 2 hours and we love when the birthday parties bring in cake and presents!

We also offer private art lessons for kids interested in exploring more in depth! Also, we are trying to organize a sewing group for kids 8 to 12! If your child would like to learn to sew, please let me know!
